Récupération Casavant, located in Saint-Hyacinthe, is specialized in the salvage of animal by-products that represent a risk for the bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), commonly known as mad cow disease. The project consisted in building a transshipment center where specified risk materials (SRM) are selected to be transform or reroute to a transformation center. The building has loading and unloading areas, pits, conveyors and some gateways to maintain the equipment. A steel frame on concrete foundations was used to build the building.
