The project was to build a new fire station on the site of the present barracks 16 Borough High St. Charles. The new building, one floor except the part connected to local media, has three main segments, the garage, the living area and the administration, which are grafted to other sectors such as the local carrier. The barracks hosts six firefighters and one officer, is busy 24/24 and houses a water rescue specialization.
Outdoor amenities such as vehicular and pedestrian traffic, parking areas for vehicles and bicycles, and landscaping were also part of the project. The existing fire station was demolished at the end of the work, however, had to be kept in office for the duration of the construction of the new fire because no service interruption was allowed.
