In the city of Brossard, on the south shore of Montreal, the Courtyard Marriott hotel is integrated into the Solar Uniquartier real estate development. This sector, which is located near Quartier DIX30 and which will be connected to the Metropolitan Electric Network (REM), is one of the most important real estate projects in Quebec. The Courtyard hotel has 10 floors of reinforced concrete and one floor of underground parking. The roof and the 11th floor, used for building mechanics, are made of steel. Our team completed the complete design of this structure under very tight deadlines. Also, one of the peculiarities of the project is the large open area on the second floor, which required the interruption of several columns. Massive transfer beams were designed on the 3rd floor to transfer the large loads from the columns that extend to the roof.
