The Louis-Philippe Pigeon building, located at 1200 Route de l'Église in Sainte-Foy, is situated in a sought-after and promising area in Quebec City. It primarily houses the offices of the Ministry of Justice within its walls. The time had come to give this 12-story building an exterior and interior facelift to ensure its presence and prominence in the area, to provide quality interior layout for the many employees who work there, and to ensure its long-term sustainability. EMS services were retained to participate in bringing the building up to code, redesigning the interior, and refurbishing the exterior of the building. Specifically, in terms of structure, the involvement was varied, ranging from wall and slab penetrations to details of cladding panel supports, to reinforcing existing structural slabs to meet new space utilization needs, such as adding new mobile filing cabinets on rails on certain floors.
