The project involved rebuilding the existing bridge located above the White River on Highway 165 in Princeville. To meet environmental requirements of the contract, the general contractor must provide appropriate methods to adequately protect the river. In addition, the management of storm water pumping and excavation was a major challenge given the nature of the soil in place and levels of groundwater. Our mandate has led to assist and advise the general contractor in its working methods throughout the project. In particular, we directed the excavation water management plan and the plan of the floodway of the White River. A steel sheet pile curtain has diverted the river and monitor groundwater and surface thus achieving the reconstruction of dry bridge.
