Built in 1922, the historic Curé-Marchand Bridge, crossing the Saint-François River at Drummondville, was consolidated in 2010 by EMS to ensure the safety of users. Typical of the bridges built in this decade, this bridge is a rare example of a Pennsylvania-type lattice bridge. It is also remarkable for its configuration with two almost identical spans. The only difference is that a range is 205 feet (62.5 meters) and the other is 210 feet (64 meters).
Because of its height, the bridge was rehabilitated by the ministère des Transports du Québec as part of the program to designate bridges of historic significance. The major part of the rehabilitation work consisted of reinforcing the main frames as well as the assemblies at the junction with the bottom chord.
