The restoration of the pillar of Île du Moine was divided in two parts. The first part was primarily composed of structural reinforcement and resurfacing work. These construction works included the reinforcement of the roof slab, the demolition and reconstruction of the outer walls of the four facades and waterproofing of the slab. For the second part, the wooden shed above the pillar was rebuilt.
In order to reduce the costs of equipment transport, the contractor used chose to build an ice bridge instead of using barges to bring the equipment to the island.
