In cases where a structure is damaged by fire, the EMS team can provide its customers with support tailored to their needs, depending on their role and involvement in the events. Thus, EMS will specifically address the needs of the owner, builder, various insurers or any other involved party with the following services:
- Evaluate the precariousness of the structure and the risk of worsening or successive collapses;
- Secure the area;
- Analyse the compliance of fire-resistive walls and fire separations, and their impacts on the extent of damage;
- Technical analysis under different codes that may be applicable and production of reports for legal purpose;
- Analyse the resistance of the structures (wood, steel, concrete, masonry) subjected to heat to determine if they are affected by the heat and if they can fulfill the purpose for which they are intended;
- Design and recommend shoring of the scene in order to search for the cause of the fire;
- Identify repair or reconstruction solutions;
- Estimate the cost;
- Produce drawings and specifications for rehabilitation of the structure after the disaster, up to standard or not.
